Ask a Frenchman‘s fourth incarnation is about to start… right now!

Now this is on this blog: David + World that everything will happen:

As you will see, the blog speaks about various things, France not being the least important topic there. I just added a Ask a Frenchman! category.

Here is how it’s gonna work:

Little by little, I will move some posts there (sans comments unfortunately) until the day where this current address will disappear (i.e. redirects automatically to the new one). Fear not, that last stage won’t be before quite a while and not before I moved all the posts that matter.

If you read this on January 14th, 2013, chances are that you won’t find many “Ask a Frenchman” posts there yet, but they’ll come little by little.

I also created an “Ask a Frenchman!” Google+ Community where you can discuss with each other whatever topics you feel like discussing about, including questions I don’t usually answers (relationships, language, etc).

Feel free to subscribe, like, follow or register to all of the social media pages and accounts linked to David + World (you’ll find the main ones in the top right corner of the sidebar, the other ones will require you to look for them - this way you’ll get more acquainted with the site). One of the main reasons for that move is also the fact that I’m quite active with those and I couldn’t do it under the “Frenchman” persona. Don’t forget to update your subscriptions if you’re subscribed to this site through RSS Feed or e-mail (I’ll try to transfer the feed, I’m not sure how it’ll work).

I hope you’ll like this new avatar of Ask a Frenchman, definitely different, but possibly more interesting.

  1. i was right re your personal site! to be honest i can’t remember how i came to following david+world in the first place. could be via tweet that you RT when you still have the askafrenchman handler? glad to hear it’s a migration that you’re going with. will have to update my feed this evening at home

    • I’m not sure. I think you started posting here, and I started following you with my other Twitter account or something like that.

    • I did a few tests (I write in English as it may be of interest for some non-French speakers).
The main issue is that Ask a Frenchman has three RSS feeds.
The original one from back when the blog was hosted on Blogger that still works (it has the most subscribers, but I’m not too sure how to keep that feed alive (unless I redirect the Blogger blog to davidplusworld.com instead of here - which could be an option).
The “basic” feed from the wordpress blog: http://askafrenchman.net/feed/
I just redirected this one and it will work as long as there is a wordpress install on the domain name.
The feedburner feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/AskAFrenchman and I’m not sure I can do much with this one.

  3. Goody, i’m glad we haven’t lost you altogether.
